House of Snouts self-destructs some more
"You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately ... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!" - Oliver Cromwell
Let us not under-estimate what has taken place this afternoon. Today was historic. Not since 1695 has the Speaker of the House of Commons been challenged in the manner we have witnessed today. This was truly historic.
After apologising to the British public for the House of Snouts expenses scandal, the Speaker Michael Martin defied expectation and said nothing about his own future.
Cue lots of points of order.
If The Talking Clock understands what was said correctly, the no confidence motion in the Speaker carries little weight. It is, it appears, to be treated as an early day motion and can only be considered a substantive motion if the Government says so. This runs contrary to what Gordon Brown said earlier - namely that it was the decision of the House to decide who was the Speaker. If a motion can only be substantive at the say so of the Government, this is clearly not the case.
Now, what is clear is that the disgraceful and disgusting Members of Parliament are looking to focus attention on the Speaker to be their fall guy on the House of Snouts scandal. That, in itself, is a disgrace. They just don't get it. It is the Members of Parliament we are disgusted with.
However, it is clear that the Speaker has been incapable of carrying out his role with any sort of authority ever since he replaced Betty Bothroyd.
Yet the true way to clear up the House of Snouts scandal is to dissolve this stinking rotting corpse of a Parliament. The entire lot of them - The Talking Clock says it again - the entire lot of them are not fit for office and are not fit for holding high office of government.
This stinking and rotten Parliament must be dissolved and the public must - MUST - be given a chance to start it all afresh with a General Election.
If Parliamentarians - sorry... if the sleazeballs masquerading as Parliamentarians will not dissolve themselves, then Her Majesty The Queen and the armed forces must kick them out, kicking and screaming and destined for The Tower if need be.

Addendum:
Almost 60,000 have now signed the petition calling on Gordon Brown to resign:

Over 3,400 have now signed a rapidly growing petition demanding an immediate General Election: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/GoToCountryNow/
Go on... make yourself feel better...
