Brownites terrorising Labour MPs - Frank Field

Frank Field - one of the rare TRUE Labour politicians and one who still has our respect - has launched a blistering attack on Gordon Brown in his blog.

Frank writes: "Labour cannot win with the present Prime Minister. I was one of the seven who would not support his coronation after Tony Blair was shoehorned out of Number 10. But even I didn't think a Brown administration would be as inept as this one".

And if you were wondering why the 'plotters' have been acting like the Keystone Kops, Frank gives you a clue as to what is going on behind the scenes.

He says: "The Brownites are attempting to terrorise Labour MPs into inaction. If they succeed then we deserve our fate".

His comments come in a well reasoned blog article in which he talks common sense with regard to the message from the voters about last night's election results - that voters do actually have feelings and opinions on Europe and immigration. You can read his blog entry post in full HERE.

Backbench Labour MP Geraldine Smith has just told Sky News that the European elections show that "maybe we should have a referendum on Europe". Bit late, but we'd still welcome it. Just don't put it in your manifesto. We won't believe that con a second time.
