City: Gormless too weak to protect us from EU
Some in the City believe that proposed EU regulation will impede their ability to compete with international rivals, reports the FT.
One private equity boss tells the FT that Gormless: "has forgotten us and may even be offering us up on a platter to France and Germany".
The FT is an unlikley source for this humble blog's 'eurosceptic' research. But as we were learning more about the City's concerns through reading various articles, we found an interesting blog post on the FT's website.
As yet, the Conservatives have not yet stated any switch in position on the thorny EU issue, despite UKIP's resounding electoral success last week. However, last week's combined anti-Lisbon vote in the UK is something that a Conservative Party in search of a governing majority might be well advised to take on board.
