Clegg: "Cosy Westminster stitch up"
Responding to Gormless's diversionary statement in the House of Snouts on 'constitutional renewal', LibDem leader Nick Clegg attacked the current Labour-Conservative baton passing set-up as a "cosy Westminster stitch up".
Clegg then went on to demand a referendum on electoral reform.
It had all been going so well, Cleggy.
First, we do not want a new political system necessarily. We just want honest politicians!
Second, we do want a referendum. But not on electoral reform. We want a referendum on the European Union.
And we did not get one because the Liberal Democrats joined ZaNuLiebour in stitching up the British people and selling us to the Totalitarian Toilet Seat in Brussels.
So, Cleggy. Nice speech. But careful talking about having a referendum. Only, some of us know that it was you and some of your lot that joined ZaNuLiebour and betrayed us.
And that was the biggest cosy Westminster stitch up in recent years.

One ZaNuLiebour MP trying to do the right thing following Labour's EU election wipeout is Geraldine Smith MP (Labour) who has just backed up her media performances and asked Gormless in the House of Commons for a referendum on the European Union. Gormless responded by attacking the Tories, saying they did not give us a referendum in 1864 (or something). Geraldine Smith did note vote in favour of a referendum when given the chance, but we welcome her 'too late' change of heart.
Kate Hoey MP (Labour) has just joined her and demanded the same. Gormless muttered something about 'red lines'. Kate Hoey has stuck to her manifesto commitment with an unrelenting integrity which we admire on this matter and this blog praises her for restating her commitment to it today.
Roger Gale (Conservative) has just joined in and said if Gormless wants the British people to be involved in politics, we should have our referendum on the EU. Gormless responded... by talking about expenses and not mentioning the EU!!
