The coup attempt hits the restart button

Former Lord Chancellor Charlie Falconer has become the latest Labour politician to call for Gordon Brown to step down 'for the good of the country'. He made his comments in an interview with the BBC's 'Politics Show'.

This is the closest link to Tony Blair possible - Falconer and Blair were childhood friends and they were even once flatmates. Is it conceivable that Charlie Falconer made these comments without speaking to Blair first? Or is it simply a case of people being entitled to a view - friend of Blair or otherwise?

Either way, this is a very senior Labour politician. Seems that while Friday stalled the coup attempt, it's about to start regathering pace. Let's see if they continue in their Keystone Kops fashion, or whether they can actually get rid of Gormless. For the good of the country, of course.
