In our completely unscientific poll for June, we asked you:
Who has been the BEST British PM of recent years?
Here are the results of your votes...
1st: Margaret Thatcher (68%)
2nd: Tony Blair (16%)
3rd: John Major (9%)
4th: Gordon Brown (5%)
So, Maggie's back in vogue. Three times election winning Tony Blair could barely muster one in five votes. And yet Tony Blair scored more than triple the number of votes secured by Gordon Brown.
And we're convinced that the Gordon Brown 5% vote showing was, in part, so high because people were taking the proverbial.
So, Thatcherism it is rather than 'Heir to Blair' then - if you're reading, Mr. Cameron...
