Sunday Paper Review: 4th October 2009
The Sunday Telegraph, meanwhile, reports that pressure on David Cameron to announce a referendum no matter what is now intense - from within his own party... and from around Europe. The newspaper cites Declan Ganley of Libertas who profoundly observes: "David Cameron must now feel the hand of history upon on his shoulder. He has now to decide whether he wants to be a great leader by committing to a referendum or just another prime minister with broken promises. This is not a game. He is going to have to stand up against this strangling of democracy."
The Observer has a very similar story on the pressure on David Cameron to now do something to get us the referendum that we want and demand.
The Independent on Sunday reports on a campaign to try and stop Tony Blair from becoming the anointed and unelected President of the United Empire of Europe. After the Irish bizarrely backed Lisbon in their "do it again, until you agree with us" referendum, Tony Blair - or someone else - could be the unelected President over us all without any election anywhere... and within just weeks as this report in The Observer makes clear.
The Mail on Sunday reports on what Harriet Harperson allegedly told police after crashing her car while allegedly chatting on her mobile phone. "I'm Harriet Harman - you know where you can get me," she is reported to have said. Now, what's the bets that that this will all be quietly dropped. One rule for the governed, one rule for the governing... Meanwhile, there is analysis in the newspaper of how "1,000 years of history ends" as the British now find ourselves at peril of falling totally into European superstate enslavement.
Over in the Sunday Express, the headline is that the vaccine for cervical cancer may be deadlier than the cancer that it is meant to prevent - and "a leading expert who developed the drug" lends support to the newspaper's claims.
And finally... the News of the World gives us a sneak peek at the 2010 calendar from the ever lovely Kylie Minogue...
