ClimateGate: 'Climate Change' is a 'gravy train' based on 'fraud' - Professor
The Daily Express, without whom key aspects of the unlawful killing (jury verdict) of Diana, Princess of Wales would have been swept under the carpet, pointedly concludes on it's front page that the climate change arguments are based on 'fraud'.
Professor Ian Plimer of Adelaide and Melbourne Universities is the newspaper's source and he pointedly says of ClimateGate: "If you have to argue your science by using fraud, your science is not valid."
The Daily Express notes what came out over the weekend, namely that the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit "also admitted getting rid of much of its raw climate data, which means other scientists cannot check the subsequent research."
Professor Plimer is also quoted as asserting: "Carbon dioxide levels have been up to 1,000 times higher in the past. CO2 cannot be driving global warming now. In the past we have had rapid and significant climate change with temperature changes greater than anything we are measuring today. They are driven by processes that have been going on since the beginning of time."
Explaining the political drive behind the climate change movement, he says that 'scientists' promote their Armageddon scenarios in order to secure huge funding: "The climate comrades are trying to keep the gravy train going."
He adds: "Governments are also keen on putting their hands as deep as possible into our pockets."
This latter point ties in with the recently restated views of Czech President Vaclav Klaus who says that "global warming is a myth" - an "excellent political idea" for politicians to be able to wander around looking altruistic and compassionate.
Lord Christopher Monckton, meanwhile, continues to lead the fightback against green totalitarianism. He has now produced a forty-two page pdf file setting out some of the key arguments and science, as he sees it.
This one is going to run and run...
