How we, the people could make the next few months count

We, the people have a unique opportunity over the next few months.

It is an election year.

Now, you could be forgiven for being cynical. If you look at the policies of Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, there is a thin veneer - a facade - of policy difference between them on most issues.

However, they do want our votes.

So, it's time for we, the people to make them BEG for our votes. On their knees.

This is the rare window of opportunity to not hope or ask, but damn well dictate to the political class - current and aspiring - what it is we want of them.

The greatest problem afflicting the political class is that it takes them no time at all to forget that they are public SERVANTS.

All too often, as soon as they get their noses into the trough of Westminster and start having their ears bent by lobbyists and big corporations, their role as public servant gets forgotten.

And these public servants - which is what they are - start believing that they are the public's masters.

They start believing that they are authorities over us.

No they are not. They are public servants. We, the people are the masters.

So, use the next couple of months - when they are all desperate for our votes - to start dictating a few ground rules, terms and conditions, and the way things are going to be.

And what better way of reminding them that they are public servants than by writing to them - why not every day? - and issuing YOUR instructions on what they are to do on any and every issue.

A mailbag of thousands of letters giving instructions on what we want them to do - especially when they want our votes - should be the start of an attitude adjustment for the political class.

Use this time well. Dictate, dictate, dictate. Remind the political class of who is the public servant and who, once every five years, is the master.

We, the people have a unique opportunity over the next few months to bring about a major attitude adjustment.

If we seize it collectively, we can start pushing back some of the waves of tyranny that our servants have made us buckle under.

Use this time wisely and reverse the tide of tyranny.
