Vote Gordon, get goodness knows

A few thoughts in light of the letter from Geoff Hoon and Patricia Hewitt to Labour Parliamentary colleagues calling for a secret ballot on the leadership of the party.

Labour MPs - whether they want to or not - will have to give in and have a ballot on Gordon Brown.

We, the people - the people who give MPs permission to have their jobs - have seen so much of this stuff about Labour disquiet at their unelected Prime Minister - that we know - know - that at some point, his party will get rid of him.

It may come now, it may come after an election.

What we the people will not accept is another unelected Prime Minister.

So, if the Labour Party go into the General Election with Gordon Brown as their leader, they will have to keep him - no matter his decisions or how unpopular he makes his party in the future.

Impose another unelected Prime Minister on the country after a General Election and the people might - quite rightly - be very angry indeed.

If Labour want to get rid of Gordon Brown ever, they must do so now - and not stick two fingers up to democracy again.

Indeed, as we enter into the democratic process of a General Election, any prospective Parliamentarian - either seeking a renewed or primary mandate from the people - must understand that there are a lot of members of the public who care passionately about the defence of our democracy.

We the people have been continually shafted by Labour who have shoved two fingers into the rectum of democracy at every given opportunity.

If they attempt it again, they cannot expect the British public to simply grumble.

Meanwhile, Tony Lloyd says that the British public do not want a question of leadership - that we, instead, want to talk about climate change [Sky News, 1.30pm].

Where is his evidence for this?

The British people want to talk about the proposed march through Wootton Bassett by Islamic extremists. 560,000 people have actively expressed their desire for that discussion and here is the evidence.

Remote?

The Labour Party does not deserve to govern. It is remote, arrogant, has betrayed the nation over Europe, defies and insults democracy, and has shafted the written constitution and our centuries old freedoms and rights.

They cannot go into a General Election pretending they will keep Gordon Brown as leader, only to change him in the next Parliament.

To do that again would be the most unacceptable act of all time and would lead to deep disrest. Rightly so.
