Lord Tebbit: Buckingham Conservative voters have no obligation to support Bercow

Lord Tebbit is yet again making national news headlines - after telling the BBC's The Politics Show that Conservative voters in the Buckingham constituency of Speaker John Bercow have no obligation to support him at the ballot box.

"Mr Bercow is not a Conservative candidate. He is an independent candidate. And it's, in my view, not the business of the Conservative Party to support independent candidates " Lord Tebbit says.

Tebbit's advice for the people of Buckingham - where UKIP's Nigel Farage is hoping to become the first UKIP Member of Parliament - is: "There is not a Conservative candidate, so they have to look around. And they will make a choice."

If you're really quick, you'll see this interview go out 'as live' on The Politics Show which airs at midday on BBC1.
