Douglas Carswell defends bloggers from elitist BBC man

Conservative MP Douglas Carswell has leapt to the defence of we humble bloggers after criticism from an employee of BBC - and ergo a public servant - who we won't name as he doesn't deserve the oxygen of publicity.

Yes, let us remember. The BBC - an ultra-leftist biased broadcaster which is strongly pro-EU - is funded by a compulsory telly tax which members of the British public are forced to pay, even if they boycott all BBC programming.

Those refusing to pay are liable to a fine and possible imprisonment.

How nice to be a public servant, living off taxpayer funds which have been collected under a menacing threat of punishments... and yet you are still able to slag off those who pay your wages.

Nice work if you can get it.

That the said same BBC employee doesn't like us bloggers having an opinion really defies belief in the circumstances.

So, thank you to Douglas Carswell who appreciates that the blogosphere represents the voice of normal British people.

You know, those people who are forced to pay for the BBC.

Carswell writes: "The internet democratises comment and opinion forming. Like the printing press in early modern Europe, it challenges the monopoly of an elite. It threatens to overthrow a priesthood of pundits. No wonder they don't like it."

Quite.

(Sometimes, you know, we just love Douglas Carswell here at The Talking Clock. Keep that quiet though, won't you?)

  1. TC,

There's a very good video link on my website (amongst many) which describes the pitiful situation of today's media. The film is called Orwell rolls in his grave.

The documentary took the film maker over 20 years to make and certainly shows change. Although it's America it could easily be here. It kicks off from the very start with the following brilliant comment:

We falsely think of our country as a democracy when it has evolved into a mediaocracy. Where a media that is supposed to check political abuse is now part of the political abuse.

The blogsphere is the only place left in the UK and west for that matter, where there is any truth left within this decadent society. Bloggers are writing daily on mass curruption, control, exploitation, deceit and obliteration of our liberties and putting the MSM to shame. We know the MSM are nothing but shills, zero integrity within journalism as they dance to the tune of their Master piper.

This is reality and Andrew Marr attacks us because people aren't listening to his constant drivel he espouses for the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation.
