The 'Say No to O2' Campaign: Fighting fire with fire seems the last sensible option
We're sure that our readers know what we're referring to, nonetheless.
What has become increasingly clear to me over the last few years is that people of a certain political persuasion do not do political discussion, debate and compromise.
All they do is name calling and abuse.
We even had "Tory scum off our streets" earlier this week.
These types of people are not open to discussion. Indeed, the centre point of this story is them now having got as far as to be making films about killing people through explosions, should anyone disagree with their ideology or politics.
...putting climate change activists on exactly the same footing as Al Qaeda; one supposedly using that method of debate, the other depicting it in supposedly 'funny' films.
Of course, it would be really "hilarious" if one of their loopy followers was to actually use violence or explosives against those who disagree with them... not. It would be an act of terrorism.
Which makes me wonder whether the spooks have gone into the HQ of the climate activist group who put out that video. They should do. There is no difference with that film and one put out by a terrorist organisation.
There is no reasoning with people who have gone that far in their ideological indoctrination.
The best thing we can hope to do is use the tool of consumerism to make sure that their warped logic stays a minority pursuit.
Praise should go to Sony for immediately disassociating themselves from the group behind this vile and disgusting film.
Now the pressure is on Telefonica owned O2. Nigel Farage leads the calls for the telephony company to act responsibly and to follow Sony's lead by withdrawing funding from this group.
We would urge O2 to follow this advice.
If O2 want to pursue an ideological stance on 'climate change', then there are plenty of alternative groups they could give their money, support and backing to without backing down on their principles.
But to give backing to a group putting out a video advocating the killing of people who disagree with them on climate change - even if intending that film to be 'funny' - will have to be demonstrated to be and become commercially damaging... it's the only sensible tool that we, the people have at our disposal.
Using our ability to spend our own money as a tool to cut off theirs seems a peaceful and democratic resolution.
Had the group behind the film had a different agenda, the Home Secretary would have grounds for considering proscribing them.
A number of people who have been banned from Britain have never advocated using violence or explosives against those who disagree with them - not even in supposedly comical films.
That a "climate change" group has had to resort to it tells you all you need to know.
