"The laws of England are the birthright of the people thereof; and all the kings and queens, who shall ascend the throne of this realm, ought to administer the government of the same according to the said laws; and all their officers and ministers ought to serve them respectively, according to the same."
Act of Settlement, 1700/01

"And I do declare that no foreign prince, person, prelate, state or potentate hath or ought to have any
jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence or authority, ecclesiastical or spiritual, within this realm."

Bill of Rights, 1689
- an important and still exisiting part of OUR both written and unwritten English constitution

Friday, 5 November 2010

Remember, remember, the fifth of November... I see no reason why THIRTEEN, their TREASON, should ever be forgot.

It is four hundred and five years since Guido Fawkes and his conspirators entered our Parliament in a bid to blow it up.

Bonfire night has evolved from events intended to remind people of punishments that are handed out to those guilty of treason.

Sadly, the Parliament which Guido Fawkes sought to destroy is now - itself - the source of acts of treason.

According to our written constitution as embodied by the Bill of Rights 1689 (amongst other documents), any legislation coming from that building which is in any way connected to the European Union is null and void.

"And I do declare that no foreign prince, person, prelate, state or potentate hath or ought to have any jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence or authority, ecclesiastical or spiritual, within this realm."

On this day where we remember Guido Fawkes and his plot, we name THIRTEEN PEOPLE who should also go down in ignoble national infamy.

"Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot"

"If any person whatsoever shall, within the United Kingdom or without, compass, imagine, invent, devise, or intend to deprive or depose our Most Gracious Lady the Queen, from the style, honour, or royal name of the imperial crown of the United Kingdom, or of any other of her Majestys dominions and countries, or to levy war against her Majesty, within any part of the United Kingdom, in order by force or constraint to compel her to change her measures or counsels, or in order to put any force or constraint upon or in order to intimidate or overawe both Houses or either House of Parliament, or to move or stir any foreigner or stranger with force to invade the United Kingdom or any other of her Majestys dominions or countries under the obeisance of her Majesty, and such compassings, imaginations, inventions, devices, or intentions, or any of them, shall express, utter, or declare, by publishing any printing or writing . . . . . . F3 or by any overt act or deed, every person so offending shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof shall be liable . . . . . . F4 to be transported beyond the seas for the term or his or her natural life . . . . . ."

  1. "Have a safe & happy Bonfire Night" FFS... What's UKIP going to announce as things progress... "Have a safe & happy Civil War"?

  2. Haha - fair point, Harry Hook. Though, in fairness to UKIP, it is an old clip.

As far as they're concerned, I'm hoping that they announce the leader result today with a cacophony of fireworks. I shall be so disappointed if they announce the result with all the gusto of a Catherine Wheel which will not spin.

    We shall see...

  3. What's the chances of finding Lord Pearson in the cellars, sat on a crate of Semtex? It's a great date to announce a leader and like you, I hope that UKIP make the most of it... cue Malcolm.
