"The laws of England are the birthright of the people thereof; and all the kings and queens, who shall ascend the throne of this realm, ought to administer the government of the same according to the said laws; and all their officers and ministers ought to serve them respectively, according to the same."
Act of Settlement, 1700/01

Why is Labour's Harriet Harman telling lies... about Labour not telling lies to get elected?

You've probably seen Harriet Harman on the news, responding to the Phil Woolas court verdict.

She says it is: "no part of Labour's politics to try to win elections by telling lies".

Really?

So where's the European Union referendum?

LIES!

We couldn't have one because the Lisbon Treaty was substantially different to the EU Constitution?

LIES!

Did your party's 2005 manifesto say there would be choice for business owners about whether to allow smoking or not?

LIES!

Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies.

So, don't tell me lies about Labour not telling lies to get elected.

And the Conservatives needn't smirk - how's Cast Iron Dave's repatriation of powers from Brussels coming along? What? They're not?

More lies to get elected.

Liars, liars, bums on fires.

Somehow appropriate for Bonfire Night...
