If he lectures YOUR country, read on for our view on why you should ignore this particular Foreign Secretary.
We've just been updating our 'M.P. Watch' scorecard, recording the votes of Members of Parliament on the EU In/Out Referendum amendment which was massively voted down last week.
Most of the names who paraded through the lobbies saying that YOU, the people, should not be given a say come as no surprise. Same old usual suspects.
And there, buried amongst them - the MPs who say that we, the people should not be given a say is... William Hague, Foreign Secretary.
William Hague who billed himself as a EU-sceptic.
William Hague, who bangs on about 'not letting matters rest'.
William Hague, who swore blind that the Conservatives would have given us a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
William Hague, who ran an election campaign as opposition leader with EU rhetoric throughout.
William Hague, who has just been lecturing Egypt on listening to the people.
And there he is, traipsing through the lobbies of the House of Commons to deny the British people a say on European Union membership through a referendum.
Some of the people who joined him come as no surprise. Ken Clarke. Anyone done an FOI on the Bilderberg Group yet?
Europe Minister David Lidington. Well, if he were to have voted 'yes' to giving the people a say, it would have been like a turkey voting for Christmas.
But William Hague? My, my!
Hague-y boy, if you're reading:
hyp·o·crite
/ˈhɪpəkrɪt/ [hip-uh-krit]
–noun
1.
a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
So, dear world... don't listen to our Foreign Secretary, William Hague. He does not practise at home for his own people the things he will stride the global stage saying should be done in your country.
